10 am/1 pm Greeting Meeting
The children gather to formally greet one another, read a book together, & enjoy snack and conversation with one another.
10:20 am/1:20 pm Indoor Purposeful Play
11 am/2 pm Clean Up Time
11:15 am/2:15 pm Books, Puzzles & Journals Time
Children work independently or in small groups with support from teachers.
11:30 am/2:30 pm Second Meeting
Second Meeting varies in each class to be developmentally appropriate. It often includes taking care of our class plants/pets and making observations out our windows, and always includes music & movement!
12:00/3:00 Dismissal
A large portion of our morning is comprised of purposeful play. This is a time when all of the children work together in a natural and collaborative learning environment and self-select activities of interest. Developmentally-appropriate learning experiences designed to engage the children in all learning domains are offered daily. Each week, the children are invited to participate in the learning of letter recognition and formation, using the hands-on program Handwriting Without Tears. They are also invited to participate in the formal art experience, often inspired by a famous artist or our unit of study.
